Embedded within the Squadron is the Silver Trident Society, an informal group of Past Commanders who meet quarterly to provide the Squadron with a Board of Advisors and to assist with Special Projects to advance the mission of Boating Safety through Boater Education. An annual tradition for the Squadron's Holiday Season Party is a generous
contribution of gifts, toys, games, and stuffed animals to the US Marine Corps'
Toys for Tots Campaign. This year, Corporal Lau from Long Island, New York,
and Staff Sergeant John Stencel from Chicago, Illinois, represented the Fort
Meade Marine Corps Detachment as our guests for dinner before gathering up the

Squadron Admin Officer Andy Gray substituted for Santa Claus as he administered the annual gift exchange & wrestling match at the Squadron's Annual Holiday Season Party. P/C Russ Slye, guest speaker at January's Membership Meeting, was assisted by Patapsco Power Squadron member Sam Freeman. Sam is also President of the Amatuer Radio organization the Maryland Mobiliers. The Squadron's Ad Hoc Committee on PR and Marketing held its organizational meeting at P/C Joanne Gainer's home. Exec Comm Member Howard Cupples was elected Chairman. The Committee created three SubCommittees--Recruiting; Retention; and PR, Grants and Donations--which have all scheduled meetings before a second full Committee meeting one week later. The Exec Comm has requested a full report and recommendations by their February meeting.
