The Annapolis Sail and Power Squadron (AS&PS) will be at the October 2010 Sail and Power Boat Shows with the District 5 Trailer and SeaVester.

The United States Sailboat Show will be held October 7-11, 2010 at the Annapolis City Dock.

The United States Powerboat Show will be held October 14-17, 2010 at the Annapolis City dock.

The AS&PS display will be located behind the Annapolis Marriot Waterfront hotel facing Eastport and directly along Compromise Street. The purpose of the AS&PS booth is to reach out to the public and inform them of who we are and what we do. Members who staff this booth accomplish this mission by informing the public about:

• AS&PS's focus on helping to increase the number of safe and aware boaters among both our members and the general public.
• AS&PS's civic participation including:
  - Vessel Safety Checks
  - Public Basic Boating Course which satisfies both State and insurance requirements
  - Safety awareness and information dissemination
  - AS&PS social activities during the year; the club hosts or participates in many seasonal events where we gather for fun and camaraderie
  -Continuing education for members: 5 advanced grades including Celestial Navigation and 6 elective courses including Engine Maintenance, Marine Electronics, Weather, Sail, Cruise Planning and Instructor Development

Remember, that a few hours of your time at the booth gets you into the show for the day and you can sign up for both shows if you like.
