VESSEL EXAMINERS NEEDED

AS&PS needs more VEs in order to maintain or hopefully improve on last years record. Most of the VSCs are performed in the Spring and early Summer, so if you can help during this period, you are strongly encouraged to become a VE. To do that, you should attend the three training/organization sessions at the Edgewater Library, 25 Stepney Lane, Edgewater. You will be provided with a VE Manual, must pass a test, and will have to will have to perform five VSCs each year to maintain your VE qualification.

It is strongly recommended that you express your desire to help well in advance (perhaps a month) of the first meeting, so I can give you a copy of the VE Manual for you to study before the first meeting.

Most VEs are able to make arrangements to perform inspections at their own marinas or neighborhoods, but we will arrange for several VEs to visit some of the larger marinas on the weekends in May and June. In addition, there are some annual events that feature VSCs as a main activity and which will require several VEs.

If you have any questions or would like to become a VE, please contact Gary Antonides, 410-956-6378, garyantonides@comcast.net.
