Annapolis Sail and Power Squadron (ASPS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the local Chesapeake Bay recreational boating community through boating education, community service, and an active social program. Chartered in 1941, ASPS members and their communities are in the general area of Annapolis, Maryland and surrounding counties on the western shore.

ASPS provides boating education courses and materials to meet state safety education requirements for boat operators. In addition, ASPS offers more advanced boating instruction for those who have an interest in advancing their seamanship and navigation skills beyond the fundamentals, learning about cruising afar, or learning about the electrical and mechanical systems on their vessel.

Boaters may avail themselves of a voluntary safety check of their vessel from a qualified ASPS examiner. This check provides information that the boat owner can use to ensure their vessel meets minimum state and Coast Guard safety requirements.

Membership is available to those who pass a qualified course on boating safety fundamentals or are a graduate of recognized maritime institutions, such as the Naval Academy. Follow the "Membership" link for more information.

If you are not sure if this is for you or just want to "dip your toe in the water," please be our guest at one of our memberhip meetings or events and we will be happy to provide more information. Follow the "Calendar of Activities" link for more information about dates and times. Can't wait for a meeting? Then visit the member benefits page on the national website to learn more about what membership can mean for you.
